Vintage Craftsman Hatchet with Black Leather Skull Sheath belt hanger and Overstrike guard . The hatchet has been cleaned and sharpened and hung on a new American Hickory handle . The American Hickory Handle has been hand sanded smooth and hand rubbed with orange oil and beeswax . The Leather sheath , belt hanger and overstrike guard were made by one of our skilled artisans here at Appalachian Axeworks . The leather is 8/9 oz veg tan leather dyed Black with Fiebings Pro Dye and treated with Bickmore Heavy Duty Leather Preservative . The sheath has a bonded welt and is hand stitched with White Tiger Thread . Total length is 14 inches and the cutting edge is 3 inches , weight is 1 lb 12 oz
